We Are Hiring For A Program Director


Dare County Arts Council is seeking a part-time Program Director. The job would entail an average of 20 hours per week working at our Gallery in Manteo, at off-site events and remotely from home. The position offers competitive compensation that is based on experience. The DCAC Program Director reports to the Executive Director.



Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Program Management, including being the primary point of contact for DCAC programs, including but not limited to Artrageous, Rock The Cape, Veterans Program, Courthouse Sessions/Speaker Series, First Friday, Homegrown and Power of Art.

  • Scheduling for each program, including working with committees to manage timelines.

  • Venue management, including securing venues for events by filling out venue applications, etc.

  • Working with the Executive Director, Development Committee Chair and Treasurer to support fundraising goals associated with each program and to set budgets for each program.

  • Program communication, including emails and phone calls with artists, performers, committee members, organizers, instructors, partner organizations, vendors and volunteers.

  • Working with the Media Director to ensure marketing needs and deadlines are met for all programs.

  • Providing regular reports and updates on programs to Executive Director and DCAC Board of Directors.

  • Working special events at the Gallery and within the community, including working some evenings and weekends.

  • Using Google Docs, Sheets and Forms.
