After a tremendously successful 50th anniversary year in 2025, Dare Arts has started 2026 with Louise Sanderlin as its new Gallery Manager.
Sanderlin previously worked at the Dare Arts Gallery before moving off the Outer Banks in 2020, and has now returned to her hometown of Manteo.
“Lou brings a deep familiarity and depth of knowledge to this role,” said Dare Arts Executive Director Jessica Sands. “Her understanding of the gallery, its systems, and the creative community on the Outer Banks is invaluable. We are thrilled to welcome her back!”
As a fine jewelry artist with a background in arts administration and retail management, Sanderlin says returning to Dare Arts is both a professional honor and personal joy that will enable her to blend her experience, creativity, and community passion into the Gallery Manager position.
"I am so excited to return to Dare Arts,” said Sanderlin. “I have always found a welcoming 'home' here as an artist growing up in Manteo. Being a resource to the community and our artists really fills me with a sense of pride and happiness. Dare Arts is a local treasure, and I am very grateful to be a part of it."
The Gallery will host a Dare Arts Appreciation Reception on Thursday, February 12 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, which is free and open to the public. This event will also serve as an opportunity for artists, members, volunteers, and neighbors to meet Sanderlin.
With Sanderlin’s addition to the team, Dare Arts Exhibitions Director and Gallery Manager Tiffany Lindsey has been promoted to the role of Gallery Director.
“I’m excited to continue my work with Dare Arts in this new position,” said Dare Arts’ new Gallery Director Tiffany Lindsey. “I look forward to continuing the growth of the gallery in ways that support our artists and serve our community.”
Dare Arts’ first exhibitions of 2026 will be the 48th Annual Frank Stick Memorial Art Show and Heidi Peelen Brooks’ solo exhibit, which will both open at 6:00pm on Friday, February 6.
