Coronavirus Update #2 From Dare County Arts Council

Dare County Arts Council is closely following all local, state and national guidance on how to minimize the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our artists, volunteers, staff and art supporters, so we are taking the precautions listed below.

  • Dare County Arts Council will remain closed until further notice. We will make a public announcement about reopening as soon as possible.

  • Our April First Friday opening receptions and festivities that were scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2020 have been cancelled. This includes the opening receptions for Janice Miller’s Pottery Exhibit and The Artists of Ocracoke Group Show. We are working directly with these artists to reschedule their exhibits in the future.

Should any other upcoming events be cancelled or postponed, there will be another update with all of the necessary details and they will be posted on our website and Facebook page.

In good news, we are diligently working on a few ways to share virtual art with our community and supporters. Once we have a plan in place, we will share that information on our social media outlets, so please follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

For any questions, please email Dare County Arts Council’s Executive Director Chris Sawin at DareArtsInfo@gmail.com. For more information, call 252 473 5558. Dare County Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization dedicated to supporting the arts in Dare County.
