Military Veteran Artist Opportunity

The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) received a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for the continuance of the Collateral Reparations: Artist Residencies for Military Veterans program. The final residency application deadline is now approaching!

Since its inception in 2016, the Collateral Reparations project has brought 13 military veteran writers and visual artists to VCCA to bring forth works that inform, challenge, and nourish our culture. The current grant, the fourth from the NEA, funds residencies for military veteran writers, visual artists, and composers. The funding includes a $1,000 stipend for each artist-Fellow.

A residency at VCCA can be transformative, inspiring ideas, instilling confidence, and stimulating production. Artists come to VCCA from all over the world to tap into rich veins of creativity found deep within themselves, bringing forth works of literature, visual art, and music.

Deadline: September 15, 2019, for a winter 2020 residency (February 2020-May 2020).
