A Pelicans of Imagination Workshop with Sculptor, Carol Willett will be held Saturday June 24th from 10AM to 3PM at the Arts of the Albemarle Gallery, 516 Main Street in Elizabeth City. Participants will learn how to construct a Pelican and spend the day decorating their own original work of art. The cost is $95 for AOA members and $110 for non-members. Please bring: A hair dryer, sharp scissors, hot glue gun, artist paint brushes, acrylic paint in colors of your choosing, spare buttons, beads, and other decorative accessories, ribbons, bows, tassels or sewing trim, small sea shells, fabric flowers or any other decorative elements you think belong on your bird. Carol will offer her collection of decorative napkins for decoupage as well as samples from her creative closet.

Instructor Profile - Carol is s self-taught sculptor who produces a menagerie of imaginative, whimsical critters known collectively as Creatures of Imagination. They began appearing at the Dare County Arts Council in 2011 and have now migrated to Wilmington, Elizabeth City and Nags Head. She is particularly fond of pelicans and will be bringing several of them to class for show and tell.
