Dare County Arts Council Gallery Reopening On Friday, May 22

Updated: May 21, 2020

We are very happy to announce that the DCAC Gallery will reopen on May 22nd under the CDC, North Carolina and Dare County Department of Health and Human Services guidelines. We are committed to reopening the Gallery in a responsible, controlled way to ensure that our staff, artists and guests feel safe and welcomed.

As we reopen the gallery for customers, we will implement these procedures:

  • The DCAC Gallery will be open to the public beginning Friday May 22. Until further notice, our hours will be 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. We will be closed Sundays and Mondays.

  • Staff will perform regular, comprehensive disinfection and sanitizing of all high touch surface areas, using approved products and procedures.

  • Staff are required to wear protective face coverings at all times.

  • Staff will be screened for symptoms daily, before each shift. An employee screening log will be posted in a location visible to the public at all times.

  • Visitors should wear protective face coverings in the building.

  • Visitors and staff should practice 6 ft. social distancing.

  • We will reopen with a maximum occupancy of 15 customers in the building at any one time. Our maximum occupancy number may be increased as conditions change.

  • No public restrooms will be available.

  • We are asking artists to make an appointment to drop off new work, or to pick up work. To minimize time spent in the Gallery, we ask that you have all consignment forms completed when dropping off work. Once your work is entered into the system, we will email you a signed copy. Call Lou or Lynne at the Gallery to make an appointment, or email Lynne at DareArtsGallery@gmail.com.

  • If you aren't feeling well or have been around someone who hasn't been feeling well recently, please visit us another time.

We look forward to reopening and can’t wait to see you!
