A stressed father, a bride-to-be with a secret, a smitten event planner, and relatives from around the world create much ado about the preparations for an arranged marriage in India. Monsoon Wedding won the Golden Lion, the highest prize at the Venice Film Festival 2001. Director Mira Nair was the second Indian (after Satyajit Ray) to win the award. All films will be screened at Dare Arts in Manteo, unless otherwise specified. Doors will open at 6pm and films will start at 6:15pm. Discussion follows the screening. Seating is first come, first serve. The venue is accessible and has an elevator. Outer Banks Film Society Memberships are not refundable and are only available to adults 18 and up.
