About The Event

Join artist Sarah Wilson for a free, fun-filled Expressions of Hope & Healing Zoom workshop on Tuesday, May 25 where participants will have the opportunity to create their own mandala, and interpret it through an art therapy lens.

What does our artwork say about us? We are all on a journey in our life, and sometimes our art can give us hints about where we are, and where we are heading. This workshop will entail creating your own Mandala, and interpreting it through the lens of Joan Kellog and Carl Jung. Participants will be invited to share their experience with the group according to their own comfort level.

Class will meet on Zoom from 3pm - 4pm.

Supply List:

  • Sturdy paper
  • Any preferred material for mark making (markers, crayons, pastels, paint, colored pencils)
  • A template to make a circle (plate, pot lid, etc)

This workshop is free and open to people 18 and up. Registration is required so Sarah can plan accordingly. You can register online at DareArts.org/workshops. Once you register you will receive Zoom class details.

Max class sizes: 20 participants.

Expressions of Hope & Healing of the Outer Banks Cancer Community is a project put together by Dare County Arts Council and The Outer Banks Hospital bringing free art workshops and artistic resources to community members who have been affected by cancer. The two organizations are constantly working together to ensure that anyone who has been touched by cancer in any capacity (cancer patients, their family members/friends, caretakers, cancer survivors and our local oncology healthcare professionals) can share their journey and experiences through the arts.
