Fresh- A Plein Air Event will be held September 2-4, 2026. Plein air artists are invited to come celebrate this “open-air” style of painting. It’s a wonderful time of year to get outside, connect with other artists, and discover the beauty and charm of the Outer Banks.

Award-winning representational artist Jeremy Sams from Archdale, NC will judge Fresh - A Plein Air Event in 2026.​

Artists wishing to participate in Fresh from the Outer Banks can find the prospectus and register to participate online at DareArts.org/fresh. Artists can also call the Dare Arts Gallery at (252) 473-5558 to register over the phone. A $70 fee ($60 for Dare Arts Members) entitles each artist to participate in the event, including a Wednesday night social hour in the Dare Arts Courtroom Gallery and the exhibit opening reception on Friday.
