Nominations are now open for Dare County Arts Council’s 2019 People’s Choice Solo Exhibit, which will be on display in DCAC’s vault November 1-26.
After receiving amazing feedback and an overwhelming number of nominations for last year’s People’s Choice Exhibit, Dare County Arts Council welcomed the idea of hosting this exhibit again.
“We are always looking for ways to interact with our community and learn from them,” said Dare County Arts Council’s President Randi O’Sullivan. “The People’s Choice Exhibit enables us to hear members of our community’s opinions, which in turn helps us grow. Part of our mission is opportunity and this exhibit is a great opportunity for us to learn about new artists and support established artists.”
All artists, regardless of age or hometown, are eligible to be nominated for the People’s Choice Exhibit.
Everyone is invited to make nominations for artists across all of the visual arts media.
Nominations can be made online here and at the DCAC Gallery in downtown Manteo from January 22 through February 28, 2019.
After the nomination period is closed, a panel of judges will select and announce the 2019 People’s Choice artist on Monday, March 4.
The People's Choice exhibit will open on First Friday, November 1 at 6pm, where the community will be able to meet the People’s Choice artist and view their work.
Hatteras Island photographer Daniel Pullen was selected as the 2018 People’s Choice artist, and his show titled “Homesick” had a huge crowd at its opening reception.
