Works in this show represents the joyful peace, glorious beauty, awesome history

and beautiful people on the Outer Banks. This has been James Melvin's theme for 37 years and he is still in awe of the beauty that surrounds us. James' desire is that as you view his work you will be reminded of experiences that have touched your life in a magnificent way.

A versatile artist, James works in oils, acrylics, pastels and colored pencils. Peace is the theme in his work. He is the illustrator for Suzanne Tate's Nature Series and the creator of the Pea Island Lifesavers Series at the N.C. Aquarium in Manteo. Melvin's works are owned by collectors and art lovers throughout the U.S. and abroad.
