Hilda Bayliss + Beth Burns Exhibit
Fire & Fiber
In October, Dare County Arts Council's vault will feature functional ceramics by Hilda Bayliss and fiber work by Beth Burns.
Pottery pieces by Hilda will include wood fired coffee pot, mugs, tumblers and succulent planters, as well as her ever so popular pottery candles and bowls.
This show will have Beth's linen table runners inspired by the black needle rush grasses of the salt marsh, cotton baby blankets woven in the traditional overshot technique, hand dyed and handwoven wool and silk scarves.
Even though it is never planned, there is an uncanny compliment between the works of these two artists.

Fire & Fiber will be on display October 2 - October 31, 2020.
Beth’s work always includes natural fibers and wool from her own small flock of sheep.
Hilda’s work incorporates functional pieces including new work from a recent wood firing. Firing techniques and colors are earthy in nature and the hope is that “each piece has it’s own personality”.
