Mission Statement:
ripCurrent, now merged with Art Throb and the Dare County Arts Council, develops and publishes original feature-length articles, opinion pieces, poetry and news items through independent reporting, creative writing, reviews and relevant discourse. ripCurrent serves as a fund-raiser for the Dare County Arts Council and helps provide much needed funds in addition to reporting on the performing arts, visual arts, photography, poetry, live music, recording, environment, surf, skate and any other areas of human interest with an artistic slant. ripCurrent believes Dare County has a unique, tolerant atmosphere which promotes creativity and recognizes the artistic nature in almost all hobbies and professions. An alternative bi-annual publication like ripCurrent gives residents and visitors an outlet to express, and a gateway to experience, that creativity.
