Outer
Banks
Fiber Group
Fiber enthusiasts
are united in their recognition of the recently formed Outer Banks
Fiber Group. They welcome the opportunity to display local fiber
art during the upcoming September show at Sea and Sound Gallery,
where the works will also be for sale. The main aspect of the
group's mission is to share with the public the fantastic possibilities
of fiber in art. This tactilely pleasurable medium attracts art
and craft lovers alike for its versatility, familiarity, and opportunity
for individual voice of creation. Recognizing that two components
of creativity are novelty and utility, each Fiber Group member
is committed to continued personal and collective growth in the
increasingly popular field of fiber arts. With more than 20 members,
the Group's art represents many techniques and is as varied and
unique as the artists themselves. Silk painting, art quilting,
coiling, spinning, felting, dyeing, tapestry and weaving are some,
but not all, of the methods that are employed to create original
art. The Outer Banks Fiber Group is currently accepting new members.
