The Dare County Arts Council announced the award winners of the 7th Annual Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show at the show's opening reception, Sunday, May 2 at the Gallery at Roanoke Island Festival Park. Judges Paul Belote and Susan Check had the difficult job of selecting only 8 recipients for the coveted awards.
This show is in honor of one of the founding members of the Dare County Arts Council and one of our community's finest leaders, Mollie Fearing. Over 400 artists, members and guests attended the opening reception in honor of the late Mollie Fearing. Mollie's daughter, Grizelle Fearing and her husband Tom McDonald, generously sponsored this year's reception catered by Kelly's Restaurant. In addition, they also sponsored the People's Choice Award. The Dare County Arts Council extends a BIG THANK YOU to Grizelle and Tom, Roanoke Island Festival Park, our generous sponsors, and volunteers for all of their support in keeping Mollie's memory alive and the arts flourishing in Dare County!
